Lately I have discovered that not everyone knows where Sri Lanka is.  Sri Lanka is in south Asia and is located in the Indian Ocean just south of India.  Sri Lanka is also not part of India but is its own country.  Here are a few maps to help you get started on how you may want to fly there.  During the war it was nick named “Tear Drop” because of its shape and because it was “crying” from the war.  The war ended in 2009 so instead of “Tear Drop”, it is now “Beautiful Eye”.

Today I write on a moving bus to Seoul.  This chapter is about the sex education weekend we had at Bentota beach with the US Embassy nurse.  Since sex education was not allowed at our school due to all the religious beliefs, the US Embassy nurse offered this class to those who wanted to take advantage of it.   Us kids were excited to get away from our parents and spend another weekend at the beach.  We stayed at the most popular hotel in the area, the Bentota Beach Hotel.

On September 20th, 1991, our entire 11th grade class including all of our teachers were required to attend a 3 day long field trip to Bentota Beach. This field trip was full of activities that helped us learn about each other and our teachers. It also prepared us for the International Baccalaureate.
